There just are no words. People will try, because that’s all most of us have.
But may there be arms to hold you and love to comfort you, one day at a time;
may Sarah’s children know that their mother chose an admirable and noble profession, that she was respected by Canadian citizens for doing that work, and that she was greatly loved;
and may the Universe provide an abundance of tenderness for you.

My heart is aching for the loss of my fellow Mountie. Even more so for her family, her children. Sarah like so many before you and unfortunately those after you, risked your life whenever you put on our uniform. You are a hero. My sorrow is, of course, for Sarah's family especially for her young children who have lost a person whom they love so much. They will never again see her smile or feel her arms around them. I also feel deep sadness for everyone she works with who will miss her support and wisdom. I'm sad also for the RCMP as an organization because they have lost a little bit of the change she would have helped to happen by being a female member. There are too few men & even fewer women willing to risk their lives by just going to work every day Their commitment allows the rest of us all to feel safer than we would without them.
My brother is a police officer and was an RCMP member for 25 years and we have another family member at depot right now. Everyone in our family feels related to every other RCMP member. Each officer's loss feels like ours as well. We didn't know Sarah but we do know the quality and caliber of woman and person is because she had to be to get into the RCMP. It is an elite and exceptional group of men and women. Every member that is lost is an unending tragedy for every one of us. My prayers will be with you all everyday. I am so sad that you have lost such a special woman from your lives.
