How do I avoid getting myself hurt in a car crash?

The leading factors in fatal and serious injury crash are failure to wear a seat belt, impaired driving (alcohol, drug or lack of sleep) and speed.  Road conditions along BC Highways may change abruptly depending on the weather in the area. 

  • always wear your seatbelt whether you are the driver or passenger, don’t drive when you are impaired,
  • never accept a ride with an impaired driver,
  • don’t speed, and
  • drive according to road and weather conditions.
