The Independent Investigation Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) is investigating the fatal Langford collision involving the death of Cst. Sarah Beckett.
On Tuesday April 5, 2016 a fatal collision occurred in the intersection of Peatt Road and Goldstream Avenue. The criminal investigation is being led by the RCMP Island District General Investigations Section (GIS), while the Saanich Police Department are overseeing the collision scene investigation..
At the time of the fatal collision the RCMP notified the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) to advise them of the situation and the information available. The IIO BC investigation will be concurrent to the criminal investigation being led by the Vancouver Island GIS.
