Kelowna RCMP were provided with tip information regarding a vehicle believed to be involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the downtown Kelowna area. Acting on the information provided, investigators launched an investigation, which spanned several days and determined the vehicle to be a rental.

On February 22, 2017 police gathered sufficient evidence to support the arrest of the man, who was safely taken into police custody outside a business located in the 2000 block of Harvey Avenue.

Following his arrest, our officers obtained and subsequently executed a search warrant on the man’s apartment located in the 700 block of Leon Avenue, states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. In total RCMP seized in excess of 1 lb of various forms of suspected Cocaine, over 30 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, over $15,000 in cash and equipment consistent with the sale of illicit drugs, adds Cpl. O’Donaghey.

The 21-year-old Kelowna man, who now faces potential drug related charges, was later released from police custody on strict conditions. He is expected to appear in Court on May 11, 2017.
