CAST Formalization and Inauguration
2018-08-27 08:27 PDT
Penticton – From August 21st, to 23rd, 2018, key representatives from several community organizations formally participated in the training and roll-out for the
Community Active Support Table (CAST) initiative.
On August 23rd, the first multi-agency meeting was held between all organizations participating in CAST. After several months or preparation, the Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP Detachment, along with the City of Penticton, are pleased to announce the official roll-out of this important initiative.
The goal of CAST is a pro-active multi-agency approach to identifying risks in the community before they occur. It’s a proven intervention model which works to quickly assist those who are at imminent risk of harm, from victimization or criminality.
CAST is going to be a tremendous tool used by community organizations who all have a vested interest in providing excellent service to those needing the most support in our community. Success going forward hinges on all local human service agencies together, in one place, working collaboratively toward a common goal, explains Cst. James Grandy.
