File # 2019-4326

On May 2, Oceanside RCMP officers were advised of a robbery that had occurred at a retail store on Grafton Avenue in Errington, on the afternoon of April 30. Two masked individuals had entered the business with baseball bats and attempted to commit the robbery. An employee confronted one of the suspects and was able to disarm them. The two suspects then ran to an awaiting vehicle that was driven by a third suspect.

The Oceanisde RCMP were able to identify the three suspects. One adult male and two youth males were arrested for robbery. All three were interviewed by Members of the Oceanside RCMP Plain Clothes Unit and admitted their involvement in the crime. The males were all released on conditions with court dates scheduled in June.

Although the robbery was thwarted by the employee, the Oceanside RCMP would like to remind the general public of the risks of resisting armed individuals. Confronting these suspects who are sometimes highly motivated or intoxicated places you at risk of serious injury.
