Single vehicle collision claims life

One person has died in a single vehicle crash near Lakes Road and Tzouhalem Road in Duncan BC.
At approximately 9pm on November 11th, North Cowichan / Duncan Frontline officers were called to assist Fire crews and Emergency Health Services responding to an SUV that collided with a BC hydro pole then started on fire.
Upon arrival to the scene members determined that the driver, and lone occupant of the SUV, was deceased.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Any witnesses to the crash, or to the driving behavior of a dark coloured four door SUV are also asked to call the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP and speak with investigators
The BC Coroners Service was contacted and is in the early stages of its fact-finding investigation. The BC Coroners Service investigates all sudden, unexpected and/or unnatural deaths in the province to determine who died, how, where, when and by what means.
