Sea-to-Sky RCMP investigators of a historical child sexual assault case are seeking to confirm if there are any further victims of a long time Pemberton/Whistler resident.
In March of 2020, immediately after receiving information, Pemberton RCMP launched an investigation into allegations of a historical child sexual assault involving a long time resident of both Pemberton and Whistler communities.
In April of 2020, police arrested Roger Amadio Molinaro, a 50-year-old man from Whistler. On June 23, 2020, Mr. Molinaro was charged for incidents that occurred between 2007 and 2018 including:
• 2 counts of Sexual Interference under the age of 16
• 1 count of Sexual Interference under the age of 14
• 2 counts of Sexual Assault under the age of 16
• 1 count of Invitation to Sexual Touching under the age of 16
• 1 count of Invitation to Sexual Touching under the age of 14
A publication ban has been put in place specifically to protect the identity of the victims.
In order to further the investigation, the RCMP is releasing a photo of Mr. Roger Molinaro.
Staff Sergeant Paul Hayes Whistler/Pemberton RCMP Commander states,
While we have identified two victims, Sea-to-Sky RCMP is seeking to identify if there are any additional victims who may not have already come forward to police. For parents and guardians, this is an opportunity for you to speak with your children, regardless of their age, if you believe they may have had contact with Mr. Molinaro at any point in their lives.
Anyone who has information about this case is asked to contact their local police, the Pemberton RCMP at 604-894-6634, Whistler RCMP at 604 932-3044, or Crimestoppers.
