The Dawson Creek RCMP received a report of a missing female on August 20th, 2004 from a family member in Kelly Lake, BC.

Eva MITCHELL was last seen at approximately 10:00 hours the morning of August 20th, 2004, MITCHELL did not live a high risk lifestyle.

MITCHELL was known to frequently walk in the wilderness to pick berries without telling anyone. MITCHELL family reported her missing in the evening when she did not return home. Between August 21 and August 30, 2004 a search comprised of over 500 people was conducted in the Kelly Lake area including the use of two RCMP helicopters, police dogs, swimming searchers, and ground search and rescue teams from across BC.

Eva MITCHELL is described as;
- Aboriginal
- 83 years old at the time she went missing
- Approximately 130 lbs
- Approximately 5’0 tall

 

This investigation remains active and ongoing with the Dawson Creek RCMP continuing to investigate leads and following up on information already provided.
