Suspected car thief captured

On August 17, 2020, Richmond RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from outside a residence in the 8700-block of No. 1 road. Two males were seen on surveillance video making off with the vehicle.
On August 28th, 32-year-old Mitchell William Coubrough of Surrey was arrested for his involvement in the theft. He currently faces a number of charges including Theft of a Vehicle, Breach of Probation and 2 counts of Driving While Prohibited.
Media Relations Officer with the Richmond RCMP, Corporal Ian Henderson says The Richmond Property Crimes Unit has invested significant time and resources into this on-going investigation.
One suspect has been identified and arrested, and the stolen vehicle has been recovered. But Richmond RCMP continue to work on identifying the second suspect in this matter, and hope to bring him to justice soon,
says Henderson.
COUBROUGH remains in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 14th in Richmond Provincial Court.
