File # 2017-16438

A bicyclist received minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle yesterday morning.

On Sunday May 28th, 2017 at approximately 9:30 AM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist. Emergency Services attended the scene at the corner of Queensway and 15th Avenue in Prince George.

A 30 year old female riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle and suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital for treatment. Speed and alcohol were not factors.

At the time of the collision, a children’s triathlon was taking place in the area. Police believe this incident occurred as a result of confusion between the driver, the cyclist and traffic control in the area. Charges are unlikely.

A reminder to drivers & cyclists to be cautious of each other, be sure to make eye contact and follow the rules of the road.
