Wanted man located hiding on roof downtown

At approximately 12:00 PM on Wednesday October 23rd, 2019, members of the Prince George RCMP’s Downtown Safety Unit attended a second floor apartment on the 1400 block of 3rd Avenue in an attempt to locate 26 year old Johnny James Boys, who was wanted on arrest warrants.

Shortly after knocking on the apartment door and announcing police, Boys was seen fleeing from the exterior window of the apartment onto an adjacent roof. Frontline officers soon followed suit. The suspect was located hiding in a ventilation shaft on another roof and was arrested.

During the search incidental to arrest, Boys was found in possession of a significant amount of cash, cocaine and methamphetamine.

On September 11th, 2019, an arrest warrant was issued for 26 year old Johnny James Boys of Prince George after he failed to attend court to answer to several charges related to break & enter and weapons possession. The charges stems from investigations that began on two separate dates in June 2019. The charges are as follows:

Boys will be held in custody overnight and attend court on Thursday October 24, 2019. Further charges related to the arrest will be considered.
