File # 2018-728
North Vancouver RCMP have responded to over 17 reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles, all determined to have occurred in the Lynn Valley area during the early morning hours of January 10th, 2018.
A vehicle believed to be associated to the thefts, is a red, early 90's model panel van, which was stolen from that area sometime during the morning of January 10th. The stolen van has since been recovered in Burnaby.
In addition to the stolen van, several other stolen items have since been recovered. The North Vancouver RCMP General Duty and the Lower Mainland District Forensic Service are continuing to investigate the thefts.
Police are seeking further information to assist in identifying two suspects believed to be involved in the string of thefts.
Investigators are asking the public to report any suspicious activity, such as one or more people walking up or down a neighbour's driveway after dark, said Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP.
It is likely that someone saw these individuals and may have information that could lead to an arrest.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or go online to Solvecrime.ca. Reference police file #2018-728.
Police would like to remind the public to always lock their vehicles and keep all valuables secure or hidden. By taking steps to lock vehicles and remove objects from view, the risk of being a victim of this type of crime is much lower. For more tips on how to protect your property go to BC.RCMP.CA
