North Shore First Responders for kids 24 hour bike relay
2020-08-20 11:27 PDT
On August 27 to 28, members from the BC Sheriffs Service, West Vancouver Police, and North Vancouver RCMP will be participating in the inaugural North Shore First Responders for kids 24 hour bike relay. This challenge is in support of the Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast and the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society. Specifically, the money raised from this event will help fund leading-edge cancer research that will improve treatments, prevent cancer and save lives, as well as offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families and advocate for healthy public policies.
There will be two locations to make it easier for you to attend and support the cause. These locations will be outside the North Vancouver RCMP located at 147 east 14th St., North Vancouver and outside the West Vancouver Police Department located at 755 16th St., West Vancouver. The event will kick off at Noon on August 27 and will wrap up on at noon on August 28. We have invited community leaders, business owners, riding groups and affiliates and anyone who wants to participate.
Due to the global pandemic and Provincial health orders still in place, your safety is our first priority. With that in mind we ask that anyone attending the event do so between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm on August 27 and that you let us know when you are planning on attending so that we can ensure social distancing. We will also have masks on hand as well as hand sanitizer and will be sanitising all of our equipment after each use.
This is going to be a fun and rewarding event! We would love to have you come down on the day of the event to cheer on our North Vancouver RCMP riders, test out the training bikes, and take some photos.
