Notice of Meeting of the North Vancouver Policing Committee

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the North Vancouver Policing Committee will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Members of the public are advised that there will be an open, public meeting prior to the in-camera meeting. It will run from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (pending any applications) in the Council Chambers at the District of North Vancouver Municipal Hall.

If you would like to attend the public meeting, complete an application form and submit it by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 via fax (604) 969-7587 or email nvanrcmp@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

Public Meeting Terms of Reference:

Individual members of the public or interested groups may submit a request to the Chairman to attend Special Police Committee meetings to be scheduled twice a year in order to enable members of the public to provide input on issues or matters of relance to the Committee.

If approved by the Chairperson, public input of no more than 10 minutes per person shall take place immediately following the commencement of the special meeting. Public notification of the Special Police Committee meetings will be in accordance with the notification procedure adopted by the City and District of North Vancouver. The agenda for the public meeting may include a review of the detachment’s past year’s performance and the next year’s goals.

Complaints against RCMP regarding conduct or investigation are to be dealt with through the normal procedures at the Detachment of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP, not at the public meeting.
