Police calling for witnesses, dash-cam footage, in serious collision involving pedestrian

North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage in an effort to further their investigation of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

On December 28th, 2023 at approximately 5:00 pm, North Vancouver RCMP were alerted of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in the Edgemont neighborhood. A four-door sedan had been travelling Eastbound on Ridgewood Dr near Norcross Way, when it collided with a pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, called 9-1-1, and rendered assistance to the injured pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a North Vancouver woman in her 40s, was rushed to the hospital by BC Paramedics in critical condition.

North Vancouver RCMP traffic team are now in the early stages of the investigation, said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. At this time, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor on the part of the driver.

In an effort to further the investigation, police are asking that any witnesses, including those who saw or heard the collision, contact the Detachment at 604-985-1311 and quote file number 23-27409. Police are also asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, or who has video surveillance of the area, to check their dash cam or video footage in the event their camera may have captured evidence pertinent to the investigation.
