File # 2023-19922

Maple Ridge, B.C. – A Ridge Meadows RCMP team up of the Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) and Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has resulted in the recovery of over $30,000 in stolen property, with a suspect identified.

On October 2, 2023, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline members received a report from a business located in the area of Stewart Crescent in Maple Ridge, about a break and enter in progress. Ridge Meadows members immediately attended the scene with Police Dog Services (PDS) to contain the scene and search for the suspects, however, the search was negative as the suspects had already fled the scene in their vehicle.

SEU and CRU obtained video surveillance of the break and enter from the business and were able to identify the suspect, who is known to police.

On October 27, 2023, Ridge Meadows RCMP SEU and CRU executed three search warrants, one at a residence in the 11800 block of 229 Street in Maple Ridge, and two warrants for vehicles associated to the suspect.

Police were able to locate and seize the stolen items, valued at over $30,000, and are returning them to the business. A rifle, stolen dirt-bike and multiple other items believed to be associated to crimes in other jurisdictions were also located and seized.

This is a great example of the teamwork within the Ridge Meadows Detachment that allowed police to recover a substantial amount of stolen property and get it back to it’s rightful owner, states Corporal Trevor Hanson with the Street Enforcement Unit.

This is an active and ongoing investigation and no further details are available at this time.
