Maple Ridge, B.C. – This morning, the Ridge Meadows RCMP, in partnership with the City of Maple Ridge, launched the Ridge Family and Youth Resource Support Team (FYRST) program.

Ridge FYRST is a three-person team, comprising of Constable Tisha Parsons, who has been with the Ridge Meadows detachment as a Frontline member since 2019; Samantha French and Danielle Bosma, who both joined the Ridge Meadows detachment a month ago and have been preparing for the launch of Ridge FYRST ever since.

Constable Tisha Parsons is the program’s RCMP Youth Liaison Officer, Samantha French is the Youth and Family Counsellor, and Danielle Bosma is the Youth Outreach Worker.

Constable Tisha Parsons started her RCMP career with the Ridge Meadows detachment as a Frontline member. Now, Constable Parsons will be leading Ridge FYRST as the RCMP Youth Liaison Officer for Maple Ridge. She is thrilled to be able to bring her passion, dedication, and overall desire to make an impact to the Ridge FYRST team’s work with youth in the community.
Cst. Parsons looks forward to building meaningful connections with our youth, community and partners.

Samantha French, Ridge FYRST’s Youth and Family Counsellor:

Samantha French

Samantha joins the Ridge Meadows Detachment as the new Youth & Family Counsellor with the recently announced Ridge FYRST team. She loves connecting with people and cares deeply about her clients, often applying a collaborative and humanistic lens to best support the needs of each individual. Samantha has over fifteen years of experience with providing individual counselling to children, youth, adults, and families. Samantha has also facilitated groups focused on positive parenting, youth and children’s groups for anxiety, grief and bereavement, stress management and healthy relationships.

Danielle Bosma, Ridge FYRST’s Youth Outreach Worker:

Danielle Bosma

Danielle joins the Ridge Meadows detachment as the new Youth Outreach Worker with the recently announced Ridge FYRST team. Danielle brings a joyful energy to her work and is passionate about creating success and positive experiences for all young people. Danielle has worked in the City’s Youth Services department as a Youth Worker and Program Assistant for the previous seven years. She also spent four years with the Surrey School District, working in a variety of roles such as Youth Worker, Safe School Liaison and Outreach Worker.
