File # 2020-78771
Weapons and ammunition have been seized by the Surrey RCMP Community Response Unit (CRU) during a search warrant execution at a residence in Guildford.
This investigation began when Surrey RCMP received a report of suspected drug trafficking on May 18, 2020. Surrey RCMP CRU took conduct of the investigation which culminated in a search warrant execution on May 28, 2020, at a residence in the 15200-block of 105 Avenue.
During the search, officers located a rifle, ammunition, taser, nunchucks, approximately $12,000 cash, and a large quantity of suspected heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine. In addition, officers seized 13 imitation firearms and other items consistent with drug trafficking (please see attached photo).
A man was arrested inside the residence and later released pending further investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
A high level of planning and attention goes into the execution of a search warrant with a focus on officer and public safety, says Staff Sergeant Mike Deneumoustier, Community Response Unit Commander.
Given the weapons found inside this residence, we’re grateful the warrant was executed in a safe manner and no one was injured.
