File # 2023-7369

At approximately 7:23 hrs on April 20, West Shore RCMP officers responded to a report of a disturbance that initially took place near Trans Canada Hwy and Millstream Rd off ramp, in Langford.

Police learned a verbal altercation took place between the drivers of a Honda Civic and Toyota Rav 4 while they were briefly stopped in traffic near this location. The driver of a Toyota Rav 4, exited his vehicle and hit the Honda Civic with a large metal wrench before getting back in his vehicle and driving toward Saanich.

West Shore RCMP officers immediately attended the area and advised Saanich Police that the suspect vehicle was headed in their direction.

West Shore RCMP officers were able to intercept the Rav 4 near the intersection of Glanford Rd and Mackenzie Ave. The suspect was arrested for mischief under $5000 and drive with out due care and attention. The suspect vehicle was towed and traffic in this area was back up briefly while officers attended the scene.

West Shore RCMP is still investigating this incident. No physical injuries were reported. We thank the Saanich Police Department who quickly set up patrol vehicles nearby and were ready to assist West Shore RCMP.
