Throughout 2022 and 2023, during the course of numerous investigations of thefts and possession of stolen property, police have located and seized a number of items that have not been claimed by their owners. The items include power tools, hand tools, outdoor equipment and automotive equipment.

If you have had property stolen and you have not previously reported it, or did not previously provide serial numbers and item details, please contact the Smithers RCMP at 250-847-3233. An officer will check your missing item against those currently in our custody.

The Smithers RCMP suggest writing down or taking pictures of the serial numbers on property such as tools, firearms, and electronics. This will help the police to return suspected stolen property to the rightful owners.
