Special Event Permits

The Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch requires all Special Event Permits to be received at least 14 days prior to the event. Many of these permit requests also require review by police to ensure the safety of event participants.

Once the Surrey RCMP receives your application from the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch, we will process it as quickly as practical. During the summer months we receive a high volume of applications and process them by event date. As such, your permit may not be processed by police until a 1-2 days before your event.  Your patience and understanding is appreciated.

Your Special Event Permit is important to the Surrey RCMP and we try to process it timely fashion. However, we are under no obligation to approve late applications (received less than 14 days prior to event date). Special considerations or exceptions to the regulations WILL not be granted.

If you have received an email from the Surrey RCMP regarding your Special Event Permit, please read the full document and follow the instructions in the email carefully.
