Speed Watch Program

Speed Watch is a program designed to raise awareness and reduce incidents of speeding throughout Surrey.

Using portable radar equipment and electronic digital boards, Surrey RCMP Speed Watch volunteers monitor speeds in school and playground zones, high collision locations, and neighbourhood streets. A police officer will attend whenever possible in order to issue warnings or tickets to drivers.

Volunteers are trained by ICBC and the Surrey RCMP Traffic Enforcement Team. Once certified, they are deployed to various locations around the City of Surrey.

The information they collect is forwarded to police and ICBC, who use it to identify high risk locations and determine enforcement action.
