Parent Tips - Drug Prevention

Follow the links to more comprehensive information from various youth drug prevention sites.

Talk and listen to your kids about drugs and hear what they say. The most powerful tool you have with your kids is communication.

Eat meals together as a family.

School can be stressful. Help your child develop positive coping strategies.

Help your child develop a positive identity.

You are your child’s strongest role model and greatest influence!

For parenthood to fade before childhood ends is disastrous for both parent and child!

Family is very important in the life of adolescents!

You need to become informed not only about which drugs your children are exposed to, but also with the agenda and strategies of those who would legitimize, legalize, and sell drugs to your children.

Make parenting a priority!

The issue isn’t about your past – it’s about your children’s future. What’s important now is that your children understand that you don’t want them to use drugs.

Willingness to experience vulnerability is one of the greatest gifts you can give your teen.
