On the 20th day of May, 2012, Ross River RCMP was called in response to a number of grass fires that had been set close to residences on Caribou Road in Ross River. The RCMP investigated the fire scenes, and a suspect surfaced. Faro RCMP assisted in the investigation and was able to locate and arrest the 32 year old male resident of Faro. The male was released on conditions, and is set to appear in court in Ross River on June 1st, 2012.
It is important to remember that any type of fire in the territory needs to be closely monitored, as it can easily spread and cause extensive damage. The efforts of the surrounding neighbours in this case should be commended on their quick response, which likely prevented a much more dangerous situation.
The Ross River RCMP and Faro RCMP continue to investigate the incidences, and members of the public that may have any information regarding the incidences are encouraged to contact the Ross River RCMP at (867)969-2677.
